Start the Fire!
Is it possible to shine God’s light in a dark world? I started thinking about this very seriously while reflecting on the last 60 years of my Christian life.
What is the fuel that starts the fire?
So, I got out my crayons and a scrap piece of paper and sketched what I had experienced. I sent my child-like picture to my friend Meg, and she made the attached graphic.
“Shining” starts with loving Jesus and putting faith in Him. Then as we live the day-to-day life, we continue to think about Him. We focus by reading the Bible and spending time in prayer. Then, regardless of our circumstances, we’ll shine because God is with us, teaching us to rest, lean, and depend on Him. We’ll shine even brighter the closer we become to Him because we recognize better His love, mercy, and forgiveness. As others see our genuineness, they want to know more about our Great God.
We may never know who has surrendered their life to God based on our example, but that doesn’t matter.
Keep on shining my friends!
