  • I cannot wait! Well, yes I can because there's sti I cannot wait! Well, yes I can because there's still much work to do! The ARISE, SHINE Multigenerational Women's conference is in two weeks. The title? Straight out of God's Word in Isaiah 61:1. So, we rise and we shine with God's beautiful truth. It's going to be EPIC!
Please come and bring your friends! We have tickets still available.
Good afternoon! I like decorating the front of my Good afternoon! I like decorating the front of my house with flowers. But it’s a job to cultivate a flower garden! Time, attention, and nourishment are required to grow beautiful flowers. Weeds, on the other hand, grow naturally. If I don’t pull them, the weeds take over and strangle the lovely flowers.

Yep, these are my flowers, my weeds, and my hand pictured!

A life is like a flower garden. To produce something lovely, we must make time to lift our eyes to our Creator so He can nourish our souls. Otherwise, weeds will take over.

Romans 8:6 tells us, “The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life.”

Many TV programs show us how the world thinks. Look at these examples:
• You’re watching a drama. The woman in an adulterous affair appears to be having fun, wrapped up in the romance of a new or mysterious love. You become envious, wishing your own husband could be that romantic.

• You’re viewing a commercial, but the intended message is missed because you’re focused on the exceptional home filled with expensive décor. You deserve that too, and regardless of the cost, you won’t be satisfied until you get it.

 • You’re watching a reality TV show, and the women laugh as they talk negatively about someone. Gossip seems funny, harmless — nothing to feel guilty about.

Romans 12:2 warns, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

We renew our minds by regularly pulling the weeds of sinful thoughts before they take root, grow tall, and strangle the flowers.

Second Corinthians 10:5 teaches that we tend our garden by taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. In other words, we spend time in God’s Word, give God our thoughts, and allow His thoughts to nourish our bodies so we can grow.

The result? The Lord will continually guide you . . . and you will be like a watered garden (Isaiah 58:11).

Summer is a popular beach time. If you’re not th Summer is a popular beach time. If you’re not there, picture yourself on a beach at sunrise. Pink, yellow, orange, and purple blend across the sky. The ocean is calm, its surface like shiny glass as the sun’s rays reflect on it. Your eyes look to the never-ending horizon, and you wonder what is on the other side. You glance to your right. People walk along the shoreline. Some children frolic in the waves. To your left, pet owners toss a Frisbee to their dogs. On the highest point along the beach sits a sandcastle, that survived the evening’s high tide.

The sand extends as far as you can see to the right and to the left.

Scientist Robert Krulwich reports, “If you assume a grain of sand has an average size, and you calculate how many grains are in a teaspoon and then multiply by all the beaches and deserts in the world, the Earth has roughly (and we’re speaking very roughly here) 7.5 x 10 to the 18th power grains of sand, or seven quintillion, five hundred quadrillion grains.” I can’t even write that number.

The point is, when God says His thoughts about us are more numerous than the sand on the beaches, He’s declaring He thinks about us a whole lot. The thought is unfathomable. But try to wrap your mind around that fact for a few minutes.

The intentional statement made by Sovereign God in Psalm 139:17-18 is so profound that it requires an incredible amount of faith to take Him at His word. When He says He thinks about us, He means He never takes a break. We can live well today and sleep soundly tonight. God is thinking about us and about every single thing that concerns us.

What concerns you today? Tell Him all about it.
