She Shines: Believing God's Perspective, Design, and Purpose for Women ~ Psalm 144:12 Brought To Light
Whether we’re young or older or somewhere in between we’ve all been exposed to various opinions and ideas about the role of women and their worth and purpose.
For some women, they’ve adopted the mindset that they’re so strong and capable that they’re working a twenty-five-hour day, feeling underappreciated, overwhelmed, and worn out. She hasn’t determined a clear vision or boundary line defining where something starts or where it ends. Do you sometimes want to exchange your Superwoman cape for a lounge chair on the beach or a hammock in the mountains? Me too.
Perhaps you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum. Your peers in school (elementary, middle, and high school) or the adults in your life verbally beat you down with insults. Mockingly you heard, “You can’t get anything right … you’ll never be good enough.” Your self-worth resides in the muddy trenches. You find it difficult to recognize your talents and abilities. And if you did identify them, you’d bury them in the trench beside your self-worth because in your mind, others are more capable. You feel stuck. And observing other’s achievements on social media stirs up the dirt in your dry season.
Or maybe you’re somewhere in the middle. She Shines focuses on one source and one author—the Bible and Almighty God. Although we will study many Scriptures in the Bible, the premise is Psalm 144:12 which reads in the
King James Version: “… daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace …”
As we study Psalm 144:12 we’ll discover that God views women as: Strong, Beautiful, Wise, Refined, Cornerstones.
